Sarah Tompkins

Marketing Committee

As a long-time Bastrop Resident, I’ve always wanted to be a part of an organization that gives back to the community. When I was asked to join the board for the Bastrop Education Foundation, I leaped at the opportunity. I have 4 children currently enrolled in BISD.

As a Graphic Designer, & owner of dos Designs, I support businesses with creativity that is specific to marketing & advertising.  Prior to my current role, I worked for BISD in several capacities.  During my time there, I was part of several groups that benefited from BEF Grants, and have witnessed first-hand the benefits that the BEF Grants can provide for BISD students.  After working at BISD for almost 10 years, I decided to focus my career on my creative talents, which led me to the current role I'm in.  As a BISD Parent, and previous BISD employee, along with my design experience and relationships with local Bastrop Businesses, I feel I bring a unique perspective to the BEF Board.

I love all of Bastrop, but one of my favorite places is the historic district of downtown, including our beautiful river.  The architecture, the locals & tourists that gravitate there, and the sunsets near the river.

I'm a licensed mediator, and a Certified Behavior Specialist (from my previous career) and use my knowledge and experience to assist wherever I can.  Being a compassionate person by nature, I try to understand every possible perspective.  Those that don't know me well might not realize my passion for being an ally to everyone & anyone.

I'm a mom of 5, ages ranging from 4 to 17, with all attending BISD campuses.
